MAINTENANCE ROUTINE

Caring for your hardwood floors has never been easier, thanks to modern finishes. Keep your floors looking their best with these straightforward tips:

  • Spills & Spots - Wipe up spills and spots immediately using a damp cloth to avoid stains or damage.

  • Vacuum or Sweep - Clean your floors regularly, at least every other week, depending on foot traffic. Prevent dirt and debris from accumulating and scratching the surface.

  • Protect - Use rugs in high-traffic areas to reduce wear. Rotate rugs occasionally to maintain an even finish and prevent discoloration. Ensure rugs have breathable backing approved for hardwood floors. Place mats at entrances to keep dirt and moisture out, and use felt pads or rubber rollers on furniture legs.

  • Moving - When moving heavy furniture or appliances, use a sheet of plywood or masonite to distribute the weight and prevent dents or scratches. For lighter furniture, place a clean blanket or carpet under the piece while moving it.

  • Be Aware - Avoid wearing high heels with worn-down caps or shoes with small stones stuck in the soles, as they can scratch or dent your floors.

  • Humidity - Maintain proper humidity levels in your home to prevent the wood from shrinking or expanding. Use a heating, ventilation, or air conditioning system consistently to regulate humidity, even during vacations.

  • Repairs - Address damage like gouges, scratches, or dents immediately. Consult with our professionals to restore your floor’s beauty and integrity.

  • Re-Coating - To extend the life of your floors, re-coat them every 3–5 years and consider re-sanding every 15–25 years as part of regular maintenance.
